To provide an immersive nature experience that will be a foundational part of the village that raises children to be healthy, kind, mindful and confident.
We aim to inspire children to learn, explore and care for each other and our environment.
Earthology is currently enrolling for Fall and Winter Camp!
We will be using our lovely indoor space in Brooklyn and accessing the beautiful Brooklyn Memorial Park attached to the property.
Have your child join us in exploring the outdoors while learning to be a steward of the environment. We offer a variety of programs that use structured and unstructured play to foster a deep connection with nature and a greater understanding of our ecological responsibilities.
What is Nature-Based Education? Our curriculum is designed to immerse explorers in the beauty and complexity of our natural world. Through hands-on activities, we'll explore local ecosystems, practice plant identification, wildlife observation and conservation practices. We learn to adapt and how to be kind, contributing and effective members of our communities.
Structured Play: Our organized activities include guided nature walks, workshops on sustainable practices, team building exercises, arts and crafts, and many guests and presentations to support learning about wildlife and our role is being ecologically responsible. We also practice mindfulness and meditation daily with sit-spots in the natural environment. Here children and staff soak in the benefits of being immersed in nature and reap the benefits of birdsong, moving water and other natural elements.
Unstructured Play: We believe in the power of free exploration and play. Explorers have ample time to discover and interact with each other and their surroundings in a safe environment. We build and create art from natural materials, observe the wonders of the creek and surrounding ecosystem, and imaginative play.
Benefits of our program and being outside in all weather include boosted immunity, enhanced mood, exposure to Vitamin D, and improved sleep and cognitive development. Daily activities promote improved language and social skills, emotional regulation and expression, resiliency, practice and development of motor skills and physical abilities, understanding the world, fostering creativity, adaptability and cultural awareness.
Most important- we soak in the benefits of being outside in all weather and remove the daily stressors of our current world. Children come to a safe place that is a natural space for growth and outlet for stress relief. Our programs focus on age-appropriate holistic child development. We want to aid their journey to become well-rounded individuals as they navigate the complexities of life.
Camper and Parent Handbook 2024.pdfPlease be sure to read our Explorer and Parent Handbook. Although we do offer school-aged childcare during typical school breaks, we are a specialized program. The parks and spaces that we explore do not have walls and children need to be able to manage that additional freedom. We have high expectations for ourselves and explorers. We need to be sure that children are willing to stay with the group and follow expectations by choice. Explorers must be able and willing to participate in programming and parents must be willing to send their child with the right gear and fuel to ensure success. Please read through the handbook to be sure that we are the right fit for you and your explorer!

Earthology Unbound has curriculum and activities planned to educate children on the world around us and Mother Nature. We have selected content that highlights kindness, community and mindfulness. We will be playing games, hiking, exploring, planting, and practicing mindfulness activities.
We will be working together to learn about environmental stewardship and ways to make our world a better place through fun and engaging activities!

Fully licensed and insured. Staff meets ODJFS requirements for fingerprinting/background checks and trainings and has been carefully vetted.
